So, you've booked your waxing appointment - nice choice! To ensure the best results and experience, let's talk about what you should do before and after your waxing session. Pre-care is crucial to get the smoothest outcome, with the least irritation, and post-care to reduce ingrown hairs and maintain that silky feel.

Pre-Care:

Your hair should be 1/2 to a 1/4 inch long, or about the length of a grain of rice, which for most is about 3 weeks of outgrowth since your last shave.

I know, I know, letting it grow is hard, but yes, 3 weeks. I promise it is worth it!

Avoid retinol or active ingredient use 4-5 days before.

Avoid sun exposure at least 1 weeks before.

Avoid plucking or shaving before.

Inform esthetician if you are on any medications or topical treatments that could make your skin more sensitive. If you are taking any medications prescribed by a doctor such as Retin-A or Accutane. Users of Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Accutane are advised not to use waxing on the face as these medications tend to weaken the skin. Because of this, tearing of the skin may occur

Make sure there are no cuts, injuries or abrasions around the area. If there are, reschedule when healed.

Make sure there are no rashes, or adverse skin reactions before. If there are, reschedule when healed.

A gentle exfoliation can be done 48 hours prior to remove any dead skin

Post-Care:

Avoid sun exposure for 7-10 days after.

Avoid retinol or active ingredient use for 4-5 days after.

Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24-48 hours after.

Avoid saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, hot baths, hot showers, etc. for 48 hours after.

Keep the area well protected and moisturized using the recommended SPF.

Use a gentle cleanser if needed for 24 hours after. Pat dry with a clean towel Making sure not to rub area.

We recommend using our favorite Fulvic Elixir skin healing serum as a daily serum, but especially for post waxing care.

Regular exfoliation can resume once no sensitivity is present, for some that could be 3-7 days post wax. Regular exfoliation is great to avoid ingrown hairs and keep skin healthy and soft.
