Preparing For A Spray Tan

TREATMENT TIME: 15-30 Minutes

Our tanning machine is the EVOLV system which has heated air for your tan to have a more comfortable experience. Our tanning solutions are custom mixed for your skin tone and type. A pre tan is sprayed first to even out the porosity of the skin for an even tan, the custom solution is applied for the selected color of tan, and a post care solution is applied to seal in the color and ensure the most even and hydrated tan experience. 

Prepping:

• Exfoliate at least 4 hours before your appointment. This gives your pores time to close to avoid discoloration

• Shower, shave, and exfoliate at least 4 hours before your appointment to give your pores time to close to avoid discoloration. No waxing or tweezing within 48 hours prior. 

• If you must shower right before your appointment, finish off with a cold rinse to close those pores

• Come to your appointment with clean skin

• No lotions or other beauty products

When you are here for your tan:

• Bring dark, loose-fitting clothes to change into immediately after your spray tan

• No denim, no yoga pants, no tight bras or underwear

• Ideally, bring flip flops too

• Most people spray tan without a bra, but we do provide disposable bra, panty, or boxer shorts. 

• If you must wear a bra, we recommend a strapless bra or bandeau

• We will provide you with a hair net but clients that have long hair prefer to have it pulled up and away for the hours following their tan to ensure that no bronzing stain gets into the hair. 

Aftercare:

• When you undress to shower, don't be alarmed if it looks as though your tan has moved or creased with your clothing. That is the cosmetic bronzer that is there to see where the tan is being placed. This will wash off. 

• Tans are fully developed after 24 hours even if you have an accelerator that is a 2 hour or 4 hour. The accelerators allow you to shower earlier but the tanning product will continue to develop to its full color. If you wish to build color you can do another spray tan 24-48 hours later to build a darker tone.

• It is better to build color through multiple tanning sessions than it is to do a thicker and dark all at once tan. Doing that can result in an orange or unwanted tone. 

• Be sure to keep your skin hydrated and exfoliated for best aftercare. We recommend our CBD+ anti aging body lotion, or the Dionis goat milk hand and body cream.
