Can Cat Eye Polish Be Worn When Having an MRI?

If you love the trendy nail art and using the dimensional magnetic cat eye polishes, you may be wondering if it's safe to wear them during an MRI. The short answer is to always talk to your medical provider, as it can depend on the area receiving the MRI. Even if it's just a fun nail art accent, cat eye polishes are magnetic and may need to be avoided when undergoing an MRI scan due to these magnetic properties.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines use powerful magnets to create detailed images of the inside of the body. These magnets can interact with magnetic objects, including certain types of nail polishes like cat eye polish. The magnetic properties of the polish can interfere with the MRI scan, affecting the quality of the images produced. However, if you are not having the MRI on an area where the polish may interfere, than your medical provider will probably not have any issue.

It's important to communicate with your medical provider and to always follow safety guidelines when undergoing an MRI to ensure accurate results and prevent any potential risks. Before your scan, make sure to remove any metallic objects, including nail polishes with magnetic properties, to avoid any complications.

While cat eye polish may look stunning, and we are obsessed with it here at Zodiac Spa, it may be best to save it for occasions when you're not scheduled for an MRI- just in case. Hopefully your nail choice can shine no matter what is happening with your health and that you wont have to opt for non-metallic nail art options to keep your nails safe during medical procedures.

Remember, your health and safety should always come first, even when it comes to your nail art choices!

Don't worry- we will still have all those 3D, up to 9D cat eye colors to pick from after your MRI for your next manicure at Zodiac Spa in Herriman, Ut!
