If you are doing a traditional microneedle, or getting the enhanced treatment with RF Microneedle, you will want to read these before and after tips to get the most out of your session at Zodiac Spa in Herriman Utah.
TREATMENT TIME: 90 Minutes
ANESTHETIC: Topical Numbing, Pro-Nox Gas available (Included with the RF microneedle)
DOWN TIME: Redness will gradually go down over the next 2-4 days depending on the patient. Opt-in to add your choice of SERA+ Peptide, PDRN serum, or Growth Factor exosomes to help decrease downtime, and boost results.
NOTICEABLE RESULTS: Gradual results will be seen over the next week and continue to get better over six months as cell turnover continues.
NUMBER OF TREATMENTS RECOMMENDED: The average person needs 3-6 initial treatments, done 4 weeks apart, with ongoing maintenance annually. Packages and Payment Plans available. Schedule your microneedle or RF Microneedle.
Recommended Skincare Routine:
For 1 week prior to a microneedle treatment, you must stop using products containing retinol and vitamin A. We recommend using the following skincare protocol. All products are available for purchase in spa or online at Zodiac Spa from your skincare professional.
AM Routine:
1. Depending on skin type: Cleanse with Lipid Replacing Cleansing Gel, Nourishing Cleanser, or Mega Cream Cleanser.
2. Apply 1 dropper of antioxidant serum: Vitamin C Reversal Serum or Counter A.G.E., using your fingertips in a light tapping motion so theserum penetrates the epidermis.
3. Apply 1 pump of AquaPorin Hydrating Cream to face and neck as moisture is very important. If you have and are prone to pigmentation, melasma, treating pigmentation; you will use the White Veil Brightener in this step.
4. Apply Light Day Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF-37 to entire face
5. Apply makeup if desired
PM Routine:
1. When removing makeup it is important to do a double cleanse; First cleanse to remove makeup with Vitamin Veil Oil Cleanser, or Mega Cream Cleanser. Second cleanse with Lipid Replacing Cleansing Gel, Amandola Milk Cleanser for aging or pigment prone skin, or Nourishing Cleanser for sensitive skin.
2. Apply 1 pump of Vitamin C Reversal Serum using your fingertips in a light tapping motion so the serum penetrates the epidermis. If you have and are prone to pigmentation, melasma, treating pigmentation; you will use the Bright White Serum in this step.
3. **This step is skipped in the 1 week pre and 1 week post procedure!** This step is to enhance your cell turnover. Mix 1 pump of retinol alternative Revitacite, or if using a retinol, the Nighttime Repair or Repair Plus. Tip for dry skin: add 1 dropper of Hydralox face oil by putting in the palm of your hand mixing with your fingertip. Mix well and apply to entire face and neck.
4. Apply AquaPorin Hydrating Cream to face and neck for increased moisture. If treating pigmentation can substitute White Veil Brightener.
PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
If you are prone to herpes simplex outbreaks, such as cold sores, consult your provider on ways to treat prior or whether the procedure is appropriate for you.
If your face or treatment area has irritated skin (sunburn, open wounds, sores) within 7 days preceding your appointment, please contact Zodiac Spa at 801-878-9895 before your appointment to reschedule. Note that to ease sunburn the appointment can be changed to a coolling, redness reducing facial with one of our estheticians.
This procedure may not be performed on active breakouts or open lesions. Please consult your provider prior to your procedure to address any such issues. If experiencing an active breakout, an Oxygen RX facial can be subsituted in place of the microneedle session with your Zodiac Spa esthetician.
Wait at least six months post tretinoin and 12 months post accutane use before your SkinPen or SylfirmX RF microneedling procedure, as these treatments impair proper wound healing, and may lead to undesired results.
If you have used spray or self-tanning lotions on treatment areas within 7 days before your SkinPen or SylfirmX RF microneedle procedure, you will need to reschedule. Always wear sunscreen and avoid increased sun exposure for 48 hours to 7 days prior to the procedure. Any residual sunburn will not allow for this service to be performed.
Discontinue the use of topical Retinol or Vitamin A over .5% for 24 hours prior to your SkinPen or SylfirmX RF microneedle procedure.
If you are on autoimmune therapy, ask your provider if the procedure is appropriate for you.
POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The treated area may be pink and mildly inflamed (similar to the appearance of a mild sunburn) for 24-72 hours following your procedure.
24 hours post-procedure, your provider may advise you to keep your skin clean of cosmetics or sunscreen for the remainder of the day. Unexpected complications may occur when products not proven safe for use with microneedling are applied post-procedure. Talk to your provider about your skincare routine.
Avoid strenuous exercise or excessive perspiration, as excess blood flow and sweat can cause discomfort and irritation to compromised skin for 72 hours.
Post treatment recovery serum, Fulvic Elixir, or exo-balm (available by pre-order) may be applied additionally the day of the procedure to assist with skin hydration. Re- apply, as needed, up to 24 hours post procedure.
Strictly avoid sun exposure as you will not be wearing sunscreen. You may return to sunscreen use 24 hours following the procedure. Continue to minimize sun exposure for 72 hours following the procedure.
