Tips and Pre + Post Care Instructions for tox treatments with Jeuveau, Botox, Xeomin, Daxxify, Dysport or Letybo
TREATMENT TIME: 30 Minutes
COMFORT MENU: At Zodiac Spa in Herriman Utah, we offer the Vibrating T-Bar, ice, or have pro-nox laughing gas available upon request.
RECOVERY TIME: Wrinkle relaxing injections have little to no down time. However, redness and bumps are normal at the injection site, but typically subside 5-30 minutes after treatment. Possible bruising can last a few days post injection.
RESULTS: Neuromodulators have various rates at which they take effect, but regardless of the brand, all will give full results seen at 2-3 weeks following treatment. Dosing varies by individual, and will impact longevity of results. FDA-Approved dosing for the upper face (crows feet, forehead, and brows) is 64 units. At Zodiac Spa Beauty & Wellness in Herriman, Utah we primarily use Jeuveau and Xeomin.
TOUCH-UP: At Zodiac we always see our clients two weeks post injection appointment to ensure capture an after photo but also to do any necessary touch-ups, and document any dose adjustments. Additional per unit charge applies.
TREATMENTS NEEDED: We recommend scheduling your re-treatment with neuromodulators every 4 months, with some clients seeing results lasting upwards of 5 months. Initial dose, lifestyle, metabolism, and diet can impact duration, but we do not recommend treatment more often than every 3 months.
PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
If approved by your prescribing provider, avoid all blood thinners 1 week before having your injection. This may include Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo Biloba, and Primrose oil.
Avoid alcohol 1-2 days prior to treatment to lessen the chances of bruising.
We have oral Arnica tablets available (optional) prior to treatment to minimize bruising.
We will not treat you with neurotoxins if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
For clients who have a dairy allergy it is important to note that Dysport is not recommended for those with this type of allergy.
An annual good faith exam will be performed with the initial intake for all patients being seen at Zodiac Spa. This initial intake exam can cover a single service or multiple that you are interested in such as botox, dermal filler, microneedling, and laser.
POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that you cannot have a facial, hydrafacial, massage, lashes, permanent cosmetics, or hair removal services on the treated areas where pressure would be applied for 14 days post injection.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment.
Do not apply make-up preferably for 4 hours after treatment. Waiting 24 hours is best.
Avoid lying flat for 4 hours after treatment.
Avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated area for 4 hours.
Avoid wearing a tight hat if your forehead is treated.
Be patient. It takes two-three weeks to see full results. We will not inject more neurotoxin for adjustments until you’ve passed the 2 week mark.
Schedule a tox follow-up with your injector after 2 weeks if you feel any tweaks are needed or you would like a dose adjustment for further correction.
Average longevity is 3-4 months, but it is very normal to see some movement returning after 6-10 weeks as it gradually wears off.
Continue to avoid alcohol for 1-2 days if bruising occurs as it could worsen.
